Clinical Services

Outpatient Mental Health Services

The outpatient mental health program constitutes the largest direct service component of our company. Outpatient therapy for most clients is a time-limited, goal-oriented therapeutic process designed to assist them in conquering a present obstacle in their lives and to equip them with the resources they will need in order to conquer similar problems on their own in the future.

Our outpatient program is available at each of the six service locations, with licensed professionals able to provide the following types of services: Initial intake and treatment planning; pre-care screening and diagnostic services; individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults; group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults; marriage counseling; family therapy; psychological and psychiatric evaluations; and medication evaluation and maintenance.

Emergency Mental Health Services

Our company has been designated by the state of Arkansas Division of Behavioral Health Services to serve as the single-point-of-entry for clients in our geographical area who require entry into the state mental health system. As a part of this mandate, our company provides emergency mental health services around the clock, both in the form of a toll-free telephone crisis line and through face-to-face mental health screening services. To access these emergency services, simply walk into one of our local clinics or call our toll-free emergency crisis line at 1-800-323-2703.

Proactive Community Intervention Services

What makes our company's community intervention program unique is that since 1988, all of the community intervention specialists hired have been licensed practical nurses. As such, not only are they able to provide the usual case management activities involving client advocacy, but as licensed medical personnel, they are in the unique position of being able to detect early the warning signs that typically occur just as a client with severe and persistent mental illness is beginning to relapse into his or her illness. Acting on the orders of our psychiatric team, these nurses can often act immediately to forestall the progression of the illness and an expensive, unnecessary inpatient stay.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services

Our company is committed to providing quality mental health services to individuals within our community who suffer with severe and persistent forms of mental illness and who have long-term, special needs requiring a more structured, intensive level of care than can be provided on an outpatient basis.

The intent of the program is not to provide custodial care or to reward perpetual dependence on the mental health system. Rather, it's purpose is to offer quality services with the intent of assisting our severely and persistently mentally ill clients in achieving a sense of self-respect, in acquiring useful skills, and in developing the highest possible level of personal independence leading to a greater quality of life.

Skilled paraprofessional specialists along with the professional mental health staff working together to provide an array of services aimed at assisting clients to develop and strengthen a natural support system within their own communities. Such services include skills acquisition training, behavioral health maintenance, resocialization training, resource coordination, supervised work crews, and medical monitoring.

Delta Counseling Associates, Inc. has psychosocial rehabilitation programs in Warren, Crossett, Lake Village, and in McGehee. These programs operate Monday through Friday, from 8:00 A.M. until 3:00 PM.

Inpatient Referral Services

As an outpatient service provider, Delta Counseling Associates, Inc. does not directly offer inpatient mental health services. However, in addition to having access to the services of the Arkansas State Hospital in Little Rock, our company maintains service agreements with several specialized psychiatric inpatient facilities in order to provide our clients with the very best in inpatient psychiatric care.

Our company provides professional trained staff who specialize in consultation, education, and prevention around mental health issues and problems to schools, social service agencies, physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, law enforcement, and other civic and community programs and services.
